Just how much do you have to suck to get kicked out of the solar system by a bunch of pocket protector wearing rocket scientists? Discuss.

Join me for Friday’s Feast!

Appetizer If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?.

“People”. I love that magazine, but I just refuse to pay that much for a magazine. Hehe.

Soup Describe your living room (furnishings, colors, etc.).

Well since we’re in the middle of moving, I’ll just have to describe what it will look like once we’re all moved in. We will have dark hardwood floors with yellow/off-white paint on the walls. Our couch and loveseat are maroon so that will clash nicely, we’ll be replacing those ASAP and I’m hoping to repaint our house in different colors since it’s our first house that’s actually “ours”, hubby has a different opinion, we’ll see who “wins” that one. We have black/glass end tables and rather uniquely, we have our PCs set up on each end of the couch with monitors on little stands/file cabinets to the side. Our couch is one with recliners at each side. It makes for ease of gaming and ‘net surfing while watching movies/TV. This will end with the new house though, as we’ll have a finished sun room that we’re going to do our ‘putering in. I decided that we spend more time looking at our computer screens instead of eachother, and that’s not good. I will miss being able to look anything up on a whim…we’ll see how long this lasts. LOL

We have the requisite TV, entertainment center, DVD and assorted gaming consoles also, not much to see but it works for us for now.

Salad What does the shape of a circle make you think of?

Smiley faces of course! Though, not necessarily smiley…hehe.

Main Course Name three things in your life that you consider absolute necessities.

My family (including my pets), Coca cola and ketchup.

Dessert What was the last really funny movie you watched?

“My Super-Ex Girlfriend” I have NO idea why this one got so bashed and didn’t do better in the theatres. I laughed my butt off.

Thursday Thirteen - Week 3

Thirteen Things That I Think are Cool about Moving to Myrtle Beach:

1. There are over 100 golf courses here!
2. You can buy hot boiled peanuts! At gas stations even! Yum!
3. Freestanding Chick-fil-as!
4. It doesn’t snow here!
5. You can say (in your best Elvis voice), “I’m goin’ down to the Piggly Wiggly.”, and mean it.
6. Nearly everyone is friendly.
7. They’re building a big, giant Kohl’s here.
8. Restaurants know how to cook a grit!
9. You can golf at night!
10. The beach. That’s a gimme.
11. People will actually want to come visit us now.
12. There’s more than one mall here. Yay for retail therapy, boo for the wallet!
13. This is where Ashlyn discovered her arm muppet.

Wow…

I totally don’t remember posting that last entry. Ambien CR ROCKS! I’m not even going to correct the typos that I made, just because it adds character. Though Yoshi HAD to have made the categories for me, because I usually forget to do that when I’m “sober”.

Well Ashlyn will be driving herself to school…in my red Grand Prix. Hopefully that’ll be “cool” enough. At least it’s not a beatermobile. And I have a 2nd interview at that job at lunch time, so no pizza for her. So she is either going to have to a) make friends before her lunch period, or … b) eat her sandwich in the bathroom a la Lindsay Lohan circa “Mean Girls”. I personally hope for option a. Personally, I think that anyone with an arm muppet, should easily make friends. Alas, if not, she always has the arm muppet to keep her company.

So, our poor cats have had to stay in a cat hotel since we arrived since they are not allowed to stay at this resort we’re staying at until we can close on our house. They are not happy, OC won’t even hardly look at me..because of course, I was the one that actually shoved him into the cage for the last car ride over to the cat motel. He did lick me today though…so that made me happy. I really miss him and Carma. :(

The Move…a continuing saga.

So, I’ve been trying to get poor Ashlyn registered for school, since they frown on truancy. It’s take me 2 days….just to not get the immunizations transferred to the “Official SC Immunization Records” does it mean that all of her previous healthcare providers sucked big toes and didn’t do stuff they shoulda? Apparently so…because gawrsh…there’s a typo on a shot she got last year and they wrote it on her record as being given on 8.31.06, which is …next week. So unless she did the Bill and Ted thing and time travelled…I’l thinking it is just a typo. So if all is well in my world I can get what I need done and she can go to school and eat her sandwich in the bathroom like all scared loner girls do…or do you think I should show up with a pizza for her to use to make friends? My god Ambien CR sure does make you kinda ramble…and…I also dont kinda care about grammar. So ::sprays grammar/spelling Nazis-B-Gone spray::

Update on the Move

Monday, August 21st, 2006

So….we’re here in lovely Myrtle Beach, SC. Thank goodness. I really don’t have internet access full time but I thought I’d try and sneak a post in to let any interested parties know that we made it. Though, it was almost like the first day of school to drop the cats off at their cat hotel today. Poor OC clung to us like that little kindergartener on the first day. If he could have shed tears and said “Please momma, don’t make me go!”, he would have…he put both arms around both my neck and then Ashlyn’s when we were trying to get him into his carrier. I will be glad when we’re moved in and the cats can stop being traumatized.

Some funny things along the way…We stopped at a rest stop in the Smoky Mountains. Well…I’ve been there when I was younger, but when I got out and saw all the fog coming out of the mountains I said, “Wow, that looks like smoke coming out of the mountains.” Both Ken and Ashlyn did the “Duh….You think!?” thing to me. Hey, I’d just woken up…and I always thought that the Smoky Mountains were just where Smoky the Bear lived. No, I am not blond. LOL

I went to that job interview today. I think it went well, and I hope I get it. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Our house should close next week and I’m looking forward to that. I can’t wait to move in!

I should go, I’ll do my best to do the Thursday and Friday memes and keep you all updated. In the meantime, go click on Yoshi at 25peeps.com I know he’ll appreciate it!
