Friday’s Feast - 111 - Week 4 (again, for me…not consecutive…because moving STILL sucks)

Join me for Friday’s Feast!

Appetizer What was the very last song you listened to?

“I’m Bossy” by Kelis on the radio. Ashlyn said, “It’s my theme song!” I said, “You’re right.” She is.

Soup What is one company/store/corporation you would recommend that people stay away from?

Please note my warnings about Springmaid Beach Resort & Conference Center in previous post.

Salad On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy having your picture made?

That would be a -10.

Main Course Besides a bookmark, what have you used to keep your place in a book?

A rose from my prom corsage in my “Senior Memories” book. That’s almost sweet enough to be sickening isn’t it?

Dessert Name a food that you like that most people don’t?

Natto. God, I hope I spelled that right or Yoshi will be all over me like white on rice. It’s (yes, I do realize how disgusting this sounds) a Japanese thing…fermented soy beans that you mix with a bit of soy sauce and seaweed and throw on top of rice. It really does smell vile to some people (everyone in my family), but I love it. It’s yummy.

I’ve never heard of natto …

    Mine’s up :)

  2. Brian Says:

    Ammy,

I never heard you mention “Natto” while we were in school.

You used to wake up from naps in the Honor’s Center wanting all kinds of junk food, but I don’t think you ever mentioned that item.

Probably because it was impossible to get in Conway.

Especially in the late 1980’s when we were all… ummm… 4 years old???

    Okay, okay - 5!!!

LOL You all were 5, I was 2 years younger than you sophomores having graduated high school early…so I was only 3. I’m still 3.

Oh and Brian, you never heard me mention natto at school not only because it wasn’t accessible…but because I got distracted by Stoby’s and their pita tacos. What I wouldn’t give for one of those now. :/

  5. Brian Says:

Stobys…. I don’t even want to count up all the money and all the time I’ve spent in that place over the years. They should have named the Stoby sandwich on a 6 inch bun with ham, turkey, summer sausage, provolone, and mozzarela the “Brian” after I ordered it for 20 years!

I’ve never had one of their pita tacos though. It sounds good, and now you have me wondering if it is still on the menu. I don’t get there very often any more, but it might be worth the trip.

And there is always the cheese dip. Mounds and mounds of cheese dip with lots of extra chips.

Ouch! It isn’t even time for lunch yet, and now I’m dying for something yummy.

  6. Brian Says:

    Now wait a minute!!!

I went to Stoby’s with you tons of times, and I don’t remember you ordering anything like a pita taco.

    Hmm…

I’m beginning to get the picture. We would all eat a complete meal, and then you would run around back to “visit” with one of the people from the center who worked there.

Were you secretly getting an illegal “Pita Taco Fix” on the sly from Bob Kingan and not telling the rest of us how tasty they were???

    Busted!!! (;

  7. tiggerprr Says:

Ahhh I think it’s the early onset of Alzheimer’s my friend…we always got that yummy cheese dip and I ALWAYS had a pita taco. I wonder if it would keep well on dry ice…..

  8. Brian Says:

I am sure that you are right.

(Are Guys Allowed to Ever Say That???)

I remember your method for eating egg rolls at Fu Lin’s better, but the idea of you keeping the delicious items from the rest of us was just too much fun to pass up.

I just wish they still had the seafood gumbo on the menu that they had in those days. It was simple, but also simply yummy!!!

Now I am making myself hungry again.

    Brian
