Friday’s Feast #118

It’s a potluck of info about you! Join us here.

I’m so stoked to have my questions chosen for the Restocking the Pantry contest…I hope you all enjoy answering the questions as much as I did thinking of them! Ammy aka tiggerprr

Appetizer - Do you believe in intelligent life on other planets?

Absolutely. I think that the universe is too vast and unknown for us to be the only ones. I don’t know that they’re hovering in our skies taking our cow lips and whatnot, but I believe they’re out there.

Soup - What is one thing you said you’d never do, but you eventually did?

I said I’d never use the “Because I said so” parental tactic. I have a 17 year old daughter. I’ve used it, and used it well. ::nods::

Salad - Who is the teacher that influenced you the most in school?

Without any hesitation, that would be Mr. Davis Hendricks. He was my 10th grade English teacher and my friend. He had us keep journals that we used to communicate with him. There he had a one on one dialogue with each of his students about anything we felt like talking to him about. He assigned us the book Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach. It is an extraordinary book that made me think. I’ve read it often, and it still captivates me. He’s moved on to great things with the Talented and Gifted program in the school district. I’m proud to have learned from him and to have thought of him as a friend as well as a teacher.

Main Course - If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be and why?

My daughter. I realize it sounds so Freaky Friday. But, even though I think I remember what it was like to be 17, I know it’s not the same. I’d like to see her world through her eyes and heart and I’d like for her to see mine.

Dessert - What is your favorite dish to prepare?

Curry Rice (Japanese style)…because that’s my favorite thing to eat that I make!

  1. Gattina Says:

I don’t know if that is a good idea to trade with your daughter ! Then you would know each other too well and that is not good too !

  2. Addie Says:

Lovely feast!!! Mine has been layed out - come and dine :-)

  3. Caylynn Says:

Our appetizers are very similar! I’m laughing at your soup and you have an interesting main course. I guess it could be very educational for both of you to switch places with your daughter. Definitely bring you both a new appreciation of each other’s challenges.

Happy Friday and have a good weekend. :)

  4. Jodi Says:

Great feast! I don’t think I would want to trade places with my teen, it would be way to freaky for me! Mine is served, come dine with me!!

    Happy Friday!

  5. KnicKnac Says:

Thanks for coming up with GREAT questions! We share the answer on the Main Course!!! But mine is only 7 - I just want innocense back, ya know?

  6. Judy Says:

Our appetizer and soup are the same. I don’t think I’d want to trade places with my kids, even for a day. I think teens have it SO much harder than we did while we were growing up.

    Have a great Friday.

  7. EDW Says:

Yes, we really should be able to trade places with our kids! Great questions - congrats!

  8. Jane Says:

First, congratulations on having your questions chosen!
Love your main dish……I think it might be fun to be 17 again, for only ONE day. Although 17 NOW is very different than it was when I was 17!
Come on over and nibble at my table.

  9. Barbara H. Says:

Congrats on winning! I couldn’t come up with anything for the main course, but yours makes sense.

  10. Sonny Says:

Thanx for sharing your feast with me.
    Mine’s up too.
    Come and enjoy!

    Greetings from Germany,
    Sonny

  11. logtar Says:

Great job with the feast… the questions really made me think! Thanks.

  12. Melli Says:

Congratulations on the win! Great questions! Which one was the one that stumped you??? I have tried to use “because I said so” … my kids don’t let me get away with that! They want concrete reasoning!

  13. miXi Says:

Thank you for the great feast. And I love curry rice, too! It’s one of my favorite foods

  14. Brian Says:

Getting to trade places with your daughter would be an interesting experience.

Even if a person leaves some of being 17 behind, there is a B-I-G difference between being that age in 2006 and living that life in the mid 1480’s like we did.

(The date change is intentional and feels like the truth today)

    Brian

  15. Sophisticated Writer Says:

Great questions, Ammy! Like your answers, too. Read mine :)

  16. chupieandjsmama Says:

Congratulations on winning. I love your answer to the main course. It is so sweet. Happy Friday:)

  17. tiggerprr Says:

Everyone: Thanks so much for your really nice words of praise. ::warm fuzzies::

Gattina – you can never get to know your child too well! And boy, would I love for her to know what it’s like to be me! LOL 

KnicKnac - Oh, believe me , I know, I know! Just wait until she’s 17.

Judy – I totally agree. I cannot imagine the pressure they face that we never drempt of.

Jane – I would love to be 17 for one day too…if only to exact my revenge on stupid boys now that I’m armed with the knowledge that I carry today! LOL

Melli – The one that stumped me was the Soup. I thought divorce. But then, who thinks they’ll ever get divorced and then actually gets married anyway? Lol

  18. Kailani Says:

I didn’t participate this week but I was hungry and thought I’d stop by and see what you were serving up. Great feast!

  19. Kay Says:

Loved the main course. That movie was really good … it showed how we would understand the other party better if we could only walk in their shoes.

Come dine with me! My feast is up.

  20. graymama Says:

Congrats! Your dessert sounds yummy :-)

  21. tiggerprr Says:

Kailani - thanks for stopping by for a snack! :)

Graymama - you know it! :)

  22. Christine Says:

Congratulations on winning. You served up a great feast!
I’d love to trade places with my almost 13yr old daughter, just so we could see into each other’s world for one day, and one day only! It’s almost time for a midnight snack, and your Curry rice sounds really good. Do share your recipe with us!
    Have a fun weekend!

  23. Nichole Says:

Nice questions. The curry rice sounds lovely!
