Friday’s Feast 124 - New Year’s Edition

Appetizer - How do you usually celebrate on New Year’s Eve?
Usually, we ring it in at home. We’re not big on huge parties and neither of us drink. Honestly, I don’t like driving when I know the number of drunk drivers has exponentially risen. Though we did ring in New Years 2006 at Epcot in Orlando, that was a big experience. Loved it.

Soup - Name one thing unexpected that happened to you in 2006.
We finally bought a home.

Salad - Where was your favorite place that you visited in 2006?
I would say that was our farewell trip to Chicago before we moved to Myrtle Beach. I love Chicago, and I’ll miss our trips there to go shopping and eating.

Main Course - What resolution is your top priority for 2007?
Finding a job here in Myrtle Beach in my field. I am a Human Resources Manager by profession and haven’t had a lot of luck yet. Yes, I am haunted by the irony in that.

Dessert -Using just three words, describe 2006.
Change is perpetual.

Please take a moment to go visit my renter, New York Nitty Gritty. He’s an excellent photographer who captures some interesting views of a city so rich in history that it’s a character all by itself. You can reach his page by clicking the thumbnail to the right.

As a reminder: Kelly over at Pass the Torch is raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The really great thing is, you can help her out with this and it won’t cost you a thing! Her corporate sponsor, Empowering Youth, will donate $1 per comment she receives to St. Jude’s (up to $500). You can leave 1 comment per day for the next couple of days.

Great feast! I practically grew up at Disney World but never actually did NYE there. I’ll have to check that out one year.

I did this feast as well if you want to stop by :)

  7. Local Girl Says:

Wow! New Year’s Eve at EPCOT! That must have been something!

  8. tiggerprr Says:

Yes, NYE at Epcot is quite a spectacle! They celebrated countowns for each of the countries at the moment it was happening in the real land. And when it hit midnight in Orlando, they had the biggest fireworks display I’ve ever seen in my life. Not something I’ll ever forget, or top.

  9. Desert Songbird Says:

Happy New Year to you, Tigger. Sounds as if you had a very eventful 2006; I hope your 2007 is just as blessed!

Thanks for being a faithful visitor to The Ice Box.

    Great list, Tigg =)

  11. Barbara H. Says:

Myrtle Beach! Hey, you’re just across the state from me! We’re on the west side of SC.

I can’t imagine NY at Epcot — that sounds like fun. Congrats on your new home. And I love your dessert — so true.

    Happy 2007!

  12. Jenny Ryan Says:

Oh cool, I didn’t know you guys were so close-(ish) to us here in Georgia :)

I hope you have a wonderfully happy new year!

Yep, we’re beachy now! No more snow! Woot! We almost went to Atlanta for Thanksgiving, but I had that way fun root canal instead.

  13. Gabrielle Says:

My gramma’s sis lives in Myrtle Beach, but I’ve never been to the US :) Is it a big or small city?

Wish you all the best in 2007! *hugs*

It’s roughly 250,000 people. So it’s not huge, but not tiny. :) Happy New Year to you too! :)
