I was chatting with a friend about some deep life things, and had to scoot off to an appointment. While on the drive, I was thinking about what we’d talked about and this blog post began to write itself in my head. I hear that’s a sign of a true writer. Who knows, but it sure made the drive short.

But I don’t care! She did something freaking awesome and I think those of you who’ve gained an appreciation of all things Ashlyn will love this…I sure did.

This is a cross-link to my Project 365 page. I think this is the coolest school project she’s ever done and I’ll take it as a sign that maybe I haven’t screwed her totally up in her 17 years as my daughter.

Well…our visitor The Foo (doesn’t his name just seem like it should be said with that cartoony echo-y sound effect? Theeeee Foooooooooo! LOL) has posted a list of 29 Things that Only Happens in the Movies. It’s so funny, and so true! Go check them out by clicking on his link! It’s funny stuffs! Then discuss Steven Segal and where he went amiss…a truly sad subject for martial arts fans.

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for Local Girl’s 2007 Valentine’s Day Goody Swap! She’s got a ton of participants and I know I’ve had great fun picking out some goodies that I hope Debby will like! So scoot on over there to sign up and tell her tiggerprr sent ya!

I’m renting a room at Taking a Sanity Break this week. I have to say it’s been a really rewarding experience. I love his writing style and he’s been a gracious host! If you rent space on blogs through Blog Explosion, I highly recommend his fine guest room! He’s been going through a bit of sadness lately, it’d probably warm his heart if you stopped by and offered words of support.

And lastly a humorous Ashlyn outtake. We’re pulling into Costco parking lot the other day and I did or said something silly, I can’t recall what. This is the conversation that took place.

Me: Gosh, sometimes I think I’m a little bit retarded.
Ashlyn: It’s ok Mom, we all think that sometimes.
Me: (Silent pause with a sideway glance and eyebrow raise.)
Ashlyn: OMG!!!! I mean that we all think that about ourselves!
Me: Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
Ashlyn: (Chortles and chuckles uncontrollably)

Ashlyn was supposed to go to her “Miss [insert HS Name Here]” Pageant with a friend on Saturday, but her friend couldn’t go at the last minute. I went with her, though again, I was not all prettied up. At least I had some makeup on this time. Can you believe they charged $10 per person at the door to watch a pageant!? They did! I suppose they need to fund the scholarship somehow, as this is a “scholarship” pagent.
