Taylor Hicks and My Daughter…Do They Make You Proud?
Just a little chestnut from yesterday. During our misadventures in kid handovers, she and I noticed a GINORMOUS Belk’s across the parking lot from where we had lunch with her Dad. So after we got his keys out of his truck and sent him on his way home, she and I did what girls do. We shopped. We’re walking through housewares, and it begins to play. Taylor Hicks’ “Do I Make You Proud?” I haven’t heard it on the radio yet, but there is is, being piped into Belk’s department store. Ashlyn gets excited, and tells me “You just wait, I’m going to belt it out to you when it gets to the chorus right here, in front of everyone! Soul Patrol! Soul Patrol!” I look at her and say, “Um, who are you!? I don’t know you? Why are you talking to me?” And start to move away, quickly. LOL She just roars. And sure enough, when it got to the chorus, she sang it to me. In the middle of the store. Thankfully not at full volume, but she definitely snickered.
You Taylor fans should be proud. hehe

Too cute! I was just telling Anna today that Johna and I will probably embarrass her when she gets older, without trying of course.
I can’t wait to have girls days out with her when she is older, though most of the time it’s probably teen angst-y, isn’t it.
