I’m not sure what’s more distressing to me…
That the Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit (a “toy” for yes, kids…), complete with “sexy dance garter” and play money for stuffing into said garter, exists at all. And yes Moms, it’s real.

That it was only #99 on the list of 101 Dumbest Moments in Business as listed on CNN.com.

It was marketed at a UK Department store called Tesco, in the Toys and Games section. After an uproar, they moved the item to their “Fitness” section.

I thought the manufacturers name looked familiar (Tesco) and it did, because my company (we make conveyors) just signed a deal to make conveyors for them… unbelievable!
I am disgusted myself… even more disgusted that they decided to continue to sell it.

I Googled Tesco, apparently they are kind of Walmart-esque in the UK. They did in fact move this item out of the Toy section to the Fitness section. They have also now added “FOR ADULT USE ONLY” or something of that sort on the item description. To me, that’s too little, too late.
The thing that’s sad is, you know there’s some misguided freak out there that is thinking “Dang, honey, lookie there, wouldn’t that be funny if we got that for little Lula Mae? ::chomps on Cheetos::” (Disclaimer: I love Cheetos myself, but that just seems like such a staple Trashy Person food.)
