American Idol Final 6 – Bon Jovi Night
OK…so tonight, was better than I anticipated for some people and downright terrible for others. Hubby pointed out that Jon Bon Jovi seems to have lost all mobility in the upper half of his face, except his eyelids. Botox, anyone? Does the thought of that being possible sort of dissapoint any of you the way it does me?
1) Phil Stacy – “Blaze of Glory” In my opinion, his was the most awesome performance of the night. I love that he’s really showing that he’s got talent!
2) Jordin Sparks – “Livin’ On a Prayer” – I hated it and I love Jordin so that made me kind of sad. But it was just a train wreck.
3) Lakisha Jones – “This Ain’t A Love Song” – Damn. I liked this better than Bon Jovi’s own version. ‘Nuff said.
4) Blake Lewis – “You Give Love a Bad Name” – Simon was dead on when he said half the room would hate it, and half the room would love it. Hubby says he officially “hates Blake now”. Ashlyn loved it. Me, I loved it when he sang, I hated it when he beatboxed. So…Simon was totally right. LOL
5) Chris Richardson – “Wanted: Dead or Alive” – Ummm, /bye Chris. I believe he will be going home, finally. Firstly, WTH were you thinking? Chris Daughtry really rocked that song last year, and were I an Idol contestant this year, you couldn’t have paid me enough money to attempt to do it.
6) Melinda Doolittle – “Have a Nice Day” – First ::cough::Bond and Travis::cough::, let me preface this with the following: I love Melinda. I think the girl can sing and has pipes made of gold. OK with that being said… It was not the best for me, dawg. I felt like she was overshadowed and overpowered by the background singers and the musicians and that in itself is a feat…considering she’s such a powerhouse voice.
I’m really having a tough time forming an opinion as to who the second person I think will be going home is. It all depends on whether I am looking solely at tonight’s performance, or overall. If we’re going strictly by tonight, I’d be sending Jordin and Chris home. Overall, I’d be sending Chris and … I just can’t decide who for spot #2… home. So we’ll see I suppose.
Hubby wants Blake and Chris to go… Blake isn’t going anywhere though. I think he’ll be there in the finals. But I’ve been wrong before ::coughDaughtrycough::. But I’m not bitter.

I don’t watch AI, but because Jordin is a hometown girl, it makes me sad that you think she had a bad week. I hope she survives.
Jordin is a front-runner to win the whole enchilada IMO. She just had a crappy week is all.

I don’t think there’s any way that Jordin will go home this week. She’s been strong throughout the competition. I also like Melinda & Phil. Imo it’s time for Chris & his nasally voice to go home!

I wonder if Phil’s good week will keep him in? He’s usually one of those favored to get voted off. We’re in Seattle so would hate to see Blake go. Hated the dark hair. Thought he looked like a girl!
I believe that Phil will be safe, he’s had a couple really good weeks. I do not think Blake is in trouble at all.

So glad you are not bitter, Tigg. Cause I am. Chris Daughtry did that song better than JBJ himself in my humble opinion. Between him last year and Bo the year before I am feeling bitter
OK, maybe I’m a little bitter.

S’ok Tigg, we can be bitter together. So do you actually have someone you are rooting for at this point? The biggest disappointment this year is the total I could give a rip feeling I have had about the contestants.

I’m with your husband – I’d prefer Blake and Chris to go. Although I realize that Blake has his support. I dislike his style – his type of performance is why I turn off the radio.
I think it’s Chris and LaKisha out tonight. LaKisha hasn’t measured up, and I don’t think last night was enough. Jordin’s fans will have rallied to keep her in.

I missed the night of singing but saw the recap on the elimination night. I’m so sad that Chris is gone. He may not have been the best singer but he sure was easy to look at!

I really thought Kiki would go… buh bye…. Phil has been strong…
Ugh, we have to endure Blake some more?????

I think that the two that got voted off needed to go. I’ve never been entranced with Phil and Chris just plain sucked all along.
The final three, I think, will be Melinda, Jordin, and Blake.
I think you are absolutely spot on with your comment about Lakisha’s performance of “This Ain’t a Love Song.” It wowed me.

I should have said, you AREN’T leaving comments – duh!

So I came home to find that it’s down to 1 guy and 3 girls. I seriously thought Lakesha would go before Chris or even Phil for that matter as he’s come up in recent weeks at least as strong as she began and she’s been falling off for me. We had DVR issues last night and I had to get the 24 recap from a friend. I hate Cox DVR.
Hugs,
Holly
