My Confession…
I am almost ashamed to say it…
I love Avril Lavigne’s new CD. But you really gotta buy the deluxe version, as the “regular” version is edited to silence out the “explicit” lyrics. She just doesn’t have the same edge when it’s censored. No, this isn’t for little kids but I’d be fooling myself if I thought Ashlyn didn’t a) know the censored words or b) have used them herself in creative and colorful ways. Let’s face it, she’s 17, she’s not talking like Snow White anymore, even if I never do hear it myself. Much.
So, despite the fact that she took a weird fork in the road to the cheerleader type rhythms that we’re hearing from Gwen Stefani and Fergie, it’s different. Hard to explain. I really REALLY like the 3rd track, “Runaway”. I expect that to be a radio staple soon.
Why do I suspect that Scooter McGavin will disown me now?

I’ve heard one song off it which sounded really 80’s retro but OK. I’ll have to “aquire” the whole CD to check it out now.

I got the album cause I like the song they play on the radio but I hated the rest of it. I love the newest Pink album though…

If I haven’t disowned you for watching American Idol, certainly I wouldn’t do so for buying the Avril Lavigne album. Plus I can understand why someone would like it, it’s catchy, just don’t blame me when you get tired of it in about a week.

I’ve been looking for new songs for the iPod. I’ll have to check it out on iTunes.

I see you’re back to blogging a little more regularly now. I had almost given up on you.
I haven’t heard the new Avril CD, but I’ve always liked her music. My brother-in-law is a huge fan. He’s probably already bought it, so I’ll have to listen to his copy.
I might have to disown you for watching American Idol though.

I like the Girlfriend song. I just worry that all Avril’s songs sound alike in the end.

Hmmm. I might have to check this out!
BTW, I just got the new Stephanie… the first track is hideous, but I like the rest.
I bet Julie Andrews just wants to stick a fork in her ear.
