Moooooooooooovies…
So despite my inability to post regularly here…we’ve been going to movies. Lots of movies. I will just say now…that there MIGHT be spoilers for the following movies: The Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3. So… don’t read any further if you don’t want to be spoiled!
I thought that Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was good…but it was kind of like the last 2 Matrix movies… just never quite as good as the first one. Like they realized they had a hit on their hands and decided to juice it… like a big giant orange. Still… Orlando looked HAWT… smoking hot. I never wanted to just BE a body part before, like I wanted to be Keira Knightly’s leg at the end of the movie. Wowza. ::drool:: It was just so long…
Shrek 3 was good. I liked it better than the hubby did. It too suffers a bit by being the 3rd movie. He felt like it didn’t have enough substance to it. I liked it..and it made me snicker several times. So…that’s all I ask from a “kids” movie. Besides, we’ve been having such a craptastic time lately…I can use every snicker I can get…especially if it’s covered in chocolate with a nice peanut, carmel and nougatty center….. Mmmmm Snickers.
Spiderman 3. I’ve been hearing and reading around that it sucked…it was awful…etc… I liked it. I thought it was a good movie. I did feel like they did try to do a lot with the movie, but I still enjoyed it. The only part that made me uncomfortable because it was so cheesy I expected Chester the Cheetah (of Cheetoes fame) to hop out from behind a curtain and exclaim that it was “Dangerously Cheesy” was when Peter Parker was his alter ego’d self… come on…you turn to your dark side and it makes you fluff your hair different and do cheesy disco moves down a sidewalk? I don’t think so.
We’re waiting to see Fantastic Four – The Rise of the Silver Surfer. I hate dealing with first weekend movie crowds. Though I see one in my future with Harry Potter coming up. I really need to get cracking and read the book! I am also looking forward to Transformers! The previews looked awesome to me.
OK that’s enough from me… lol What did you all think?

I was disappointed in Spider-Man 3. I thought they undid everything that they achieved in the first two films.
Haven’t seen Shrek or Pirates yet. I detested Pirates 2 and I’m not really looking forward to the third one.
I’m really only anxious now for Harry Potter.

I didn’t read the parts about Shrek or Spidey because we’ve yet to see them, but we say Pirates on Sunday (treat for hubby for Fathers’ Day). I must say, even though it was all over the place, and I missed some things due to the accents, it was a fun ride. I’m glad someone told me to stay through to the very end of the credits else I would have missed the very, very last scene!

I only saw Pirates and you are right, it was good not great. But, I would sure love to have been rubbing on Keira Knightleys legs myself. Johnny Depp was awesome as usual!

One more time?
Loved the Pirate movie… there was no shortage of pretty man meat in this movie.
I love Depp.
Didn’t see shrek, but I agree with the cheese factor in Spiderman 3. I just think it was a little over the top.
Fantastic 4 was pretty good, but I was more focused on how horrible Jessica Alba’s wigs and , makeup and fake blue contacts looked. It’s like they couldn’t find what they wanted and kept trying to find a good wig, and failed miserably.
Like you said, the first is always the best, the sequels leave something to be desired. the only sequels i haven’t felt that about are the Die Hard movies… Bruce Willis is easy on the eye too.
I cant wait for the next one… its coming soon!

We’ve seen a lot of these too. We’re not very discriminating movie-goers
We like most movies, for one reason or another. I agree that most of these sequels don’t live up to either the original or previous one (although almost always the first one and never the middle of a trilogy). If you liked the first Fantastic Four, you’ll probably like this one. I agree with Mary, Jessica Alba was distracting! She’s so gorgeous in real life and just looks so weird in that blonde wig and icky stuff. We liked it though, and we also saw Oceans 13. I thought it was a lot better than 12 and almost as good as the original. Agree with you on Superman, we liked it too. We haven’t seen Pirates yet, but soon. Maybe this weekend. Like you, I’m worried about how long it is. I like to get a drink and popcorn at the movies and that is too long for me to have to wait for a break, LOL!
Hope you’re having a great summer!
