Free at Last! Well…almost.

I gave my notice finally to the Workplace from Hell. Ashlyn called me on Wednesday because the friend that was going to take her to get her Sr. pictures done at school couldn’t take her after all. I advised work that I’d have to take off an hour and a half earlier than I anticipated for her therapy because of the above and the Interim Branch Manager (Yeah, Interim…my already inept Branch Manager had to have emergency Open Heart surgery about 4 weeks ago and rather than have me step in (if you will recall that was the carrot that got dangled in front of me to keep me there in MARCH when I resigned) they promoted the Sales Exec, who knows NOTHING about operations. We all know the Branch Manager isn’t coming back…so that kind of shows me that I would be stuck in hell.) starts in on “When is this going to end with the therapy? And now this? It seems like work is your last priority!!!” To which I replied, “You know why? Because it IS my last priority, Ashlyn comes first. As for when it will end? ::leaning over her desk calendar tapping on 7/27:: It’ll be ending on the 27th of July, since that’ll be my last day.” “Oh I didn’t mean I wanted you to do that!!!” “Oh, well…you were getting this notice on Friday anyway.” (She was, I’m really pissed about the Interim thing)” Well, then she goes on about how she knew I wasn’t happy about the interim thing so I seized the opportunity to tell her exactly what I thought, which was “Yeah, you’re right I’m not happy, because I honestly think it was a bad move since you, no offense of course to you as a person, have NO IDEA what you’re doing in ops.” To which she agreed she didn’t and that she told them that but they insisted. And I said, “That’s exactly why, the other day you didn’t know any better than to call a temporary while they were still at work to let her know the client had fired her from her assignment. I’m confident that you can organize files; however, I find it offensive that the company wants me to teach you everything I know about ops that I’ve gained in the last 13 years so you can tell me how to do my job.”

Then I texted the hubby with “I just gave notice. Sorry, it couldn’t be helped.”

So…I just have to try and make it 2 more weeks without killing someone. I have 4 weeks off to get the kids ready for school, Ashlyn to therapy and also 4 wisdom teeth removed. Then on the same day the kids start school, I start my new job managing a HOA.

What’s in this for you?? I’ll have 4 weeks to blog blog blog! And I won’t be as stressed out as I have been for the last 5 months and maybe, just maybe, I’ll have entertaining things to write about rather than bitching all the time.

Goody.

Sometimes you just have to take a stand and do what’s right for yourself.

You’re going to managing and HOA? Huh. I hope you have paid up life insurance….Bwahahahaha! Seriously, I’m glad you quit, and I hope you can hang in there for the next two weeks without maiming or killing someone.

Good for you. No job is worth it when you compare it to Hell. and Ashlyn does comes first. Sounds like the Interim Manager has never had kids.
