I am Deeply Heartbroken
Dolphin Species Driven to Extinction By Humans
I know that sometimes it’s hard to peel away the many layers of this ogre’s onion and see what’s important to me. Obviously, my family (both the furry and non-furry members) is really important to me. But the Earth and all its animals are really important to me as well.
I don’t understand why so few people understand that we’re all links in a chain, and I’m not even talking the “food chain”. Every link that gets eradicated, particularly at the hands of the “human” race, we as a planet are weakened for it. I don’t pretend to be a total tree hugger, but I understand that every animal lost at the hands of a human literally, or via human “progress” is a loss that should be mourned heavily.
I grieve today for this poor species of dolphin. I grieve for us.

I find it frightening. Who knows when there will be something that is so important to other species that we will get knocked down like a house of cards. The dolphins are sad because they are so intelligent.
We live in an area where they are heavily cutting trees and building. Cougars and bears are coming close to human habitation and being destroyed for wandering around in lands that were once theirs. Why do we need 6,000 square foot homes?!

I think that humans will eventually make humans extinct too. honestly, if something isn’t done in a few hundred years, the world will be ruled by ants.
The world has lost even more cool points today. I don’t think that it’s going to ever get back up again.

great, we continue to go to hell in a handbasket. When humans can do in something that has survived longer the most of Peru, we are really getting professional at effing things up.

Mind you, I’m not condoning the actions of the humans in this case, but I would assume that the Chinese fishermen living and working on the river are more interested in making a living and feeding their families than protecting the environment.
Sucks all to hell, don’t it?

I saw that on the news and I almost didn’t believe it. You don’t usually hear about dolphins going extinct. I feel bad for our kids and their kids and of course, the dolphins.

That is sad…
