tiggerprr’s scratching post

Anyhoo! Wow, I can’t believe I almost missed it! Today marks the 1st anniversary of the birth of tiggerprr’s scratching post. After a few test posts, shortly after midnight on 8/11 my first “real” post was unleashed on the world, a Thursday Thirteen of all things explaining reasons I should blog. Let’s see how those reasons stack up a year later, shall we?

1. It’s cheaper than therapy. It IS cheaper than therapy, but I’m going to therapy anyway. I’m happy to have both, my life has a lot of plates I’m juggling and it’s nice to have an impartial third party to help me try to successfully juggle them

2) I have a 16 year old daughter who knows everything. Now I understand why some animals eat their young. There’s gotta be a few stories in that. Well, she made it to 17, and now she’s nearly 18 already. She’s had a bumpy year filled with injury, 2 surgeries, and she still thinks she knows everything…she’s also still wrong. We’ve also added my two stepchildren to our home, and that’s been a roller coaster ride for everyone as we’re all trying to adjust (I keep thinking of that song from Death to Smoochy “Your Stepdad’s not Mean, He’s Just Adjusting” LOL)

3) My husband thinks a blog would be a great place to complain about him. I think he’s right.I don’t think I’ve really complained about him so much, but I have mercilessly teased him about his ever growing collection of wiring we will most certainly need someday if we ever need to rope an entire herd of cattle, or wildebeests or something else that runs about in largeginormous numbers.

4) I have two cats, one thinks he’s a dog, the other thinks 15 pounds is merely pleasantly plump. Their antics amuse me, and I’m sure they’ll amuse you too. Yep, they’re both kicking around, and yes, they make us laugh nearly every day, and yeah, I’ve written about them, and even placed well in a few online blogging contests. See, cat haters, they ARE good for things! So stop the h8!

5) Everyone does it! (Right?)Well, I don’t know if everyone is doing it. But I sure am, and I don’t plan on stopping.

6) I could use more friends. I still could use more friends, but…I sure have made a bunch and I love each and every one of you, you know who you are, don’t you?

7) I have a quirky sense of humor. And laughter is good medicine, so I’m helping you out! I hope I’ve made you smile, chortle, snort, giggle or something along the way. If not, don’t worry, I’m not stopping ’til I make you ROFL….don’t make me blog until I’m 90 and surrounded by 150 cats, please?

8. I don’t really have anything better to do. With the addition of 2 more kids to our household and becoming employed, I did have things that are better to do (spending time with the family) and things that weren’t better to do but necessary to do - have you SEEN how much 3 teenagers eat!? (work). Also Ashlyn had a catastrophic injury to her knee in February, which you readers all know about, and I’ve been shuttling her to physical therapy, endured 2 surgeries with her and several doctors appts, not to mention battling the hell that is not one, but two insurance companies. I’m frankly amazed that I still have more than like 2 readers, yet you still come by and I truly appreciate all of you for it.

9) I’m sure that something I say here will embarrass my daughter. Priceless. She’s so freaking self-assured, I haven’t accomplished this yet. But mark my word, I will…oh yes, I will!

10) You can only spend so many hours a day playing World of Warcraft. I have one lvl 70 character, 5 that are 60+, 2 lvl 50+…I’m still playing, just not as much due to RL getting in the way…I’ve been starting to play more. Especially since there’ll be an expansion that will let me take them to lvl 80. Ha, and you thought I wasn’t a nerd!

11) Thinking of stuff to write about will exercise my brain. Kinda, yeah, I found though…it’s hard to shut me up. You’ve probably found that too.

12) Reading my blog will exercise yours. I don’t know if it has, but I hope so. And I hope you’ve found and continue to find reasons to come back.

13) I should start a blog…because Yoshi says so. I should have listened to him a long time ago this is one of the best things I’ve ever done. Now he’s gone and talked me into doing a weekly podcast with him and some other bloggers…so if you wanna not only read but hear the tiggerprr, you’ll soon be able to do so….more info will be posted in coming weeks.
