I Am Posting This Retraction Under Duress
As you know…Over the past year, twice in the last month actually, I’ve made light of the ginormous amounts of wiring and various computer parts he just REFUSES to get rid of.
Well today, the power went out and somehow my power supply in my computer got fried. Yes, you guessed it. The hubby had an old power supply that he Frankenputered into my PC so that I am able to post to the masses. I was advised that there would be a worldwide (web) retraction of all harassment I’ve given him over the years for all the crap that he keeps laying about “just in case” we need it some day.
So, begrudingly, I must admit that I am pleased that he had the part he needed to get me up and running and that I’m happy that he has this massive collection of stuff. Yes, he’s a good hubby ::pat, pat::
This doesn’t mean I have to be happy about HOW it’s stored though, right? Right.

He sounds like a savior to me! If my computer crashed, DH wouldn’t have the first clue on how to fix it.
Yes, he’s very handy to have around for moments of things needing fixed or techie crap…however, along with that comes the sense of humor that makes him giggle to say “Here, wanna hold my nuts?” and hand me two bolt nut things.

Well, just so you know, in my experiences lately with power supplies..you dont’ know how long that power supply is going to last. I’d advise making sure you have a backup or buy a new one.

Ugh, dead power supplies. Happened to me TWICE with my old HP Pavilion (pain in the ass, long gone, not mourned computer…). My Hubby (now dubbed “My Very Own Geek Squad” has all this shit lying around the house, too, but I now thank him for fixing things and keeping me connected. God knows I could never do it.

All it takes is once instance like this and these men of ours feel eternally justifed to hoard this wonky stuff. I can’t say much, though..I keep every spare button I find…and scraps of wrapping paper…and used shipping supplies…
Maybe fair is fair after all.

I’m like that – I didn’t used to throw much of anything in the way of compuyter parts away – I even have an old server from my work in our closet. I am learning to not keep so much though – we don’t have much storage space any more.
