A Familiar Face is Resurrected on 24

She has a giant brace on her leg and we go back to the doctor tomorrow. I’ve got the week off from work if we need to use it, so I am hoping that I’ll get the chance to get back into the swing of posting and get out to see all of you that I’ve been missing for all this time.

American Idol…so happy that Princess Disney is gone…and while Sanjaya did sing well on his song, the creepy eye thing was, well…creepy.

24…I’m having a bit of trouble staying connected with the story this year, but it’s still great. Loooooove me some Jack Bauer. Yum.

I’ll be seeing you all this week, I promise!

Would you believe I haven’t even seen this week’s 24? Ugh. Don’t tell me about it though… ::plugs ears:: LALALALALALALALA

And that giant vacuum sound you hear??? No, that’s not me cleaning the house…that’s the sound of American Idol sucking really hard. I’ll speak more on this topic later.

Anyway, just wanted to fly in this Friday evening and say I am still alive. I have decided we really do have a teenager in the house, as illustrated by the fact that we now have other family’s teenagers spending time over here eating our food and sleeping on our couches/beds…that’s probably what I’ll be doing tonight, when I’m not hiding out in World of Warcraft.

Oh and two more things….

Thank you soooo much to all of you, old friends and new friends, who stopped by to visit me on my birthday and give me well wishes…I was vaclempt!

Let’s start back at Monday, shall we? 24. It was an ok episode, didn’t really have a whole lot of oomph for me until the end. Of course, I knew that Jack wasn’t a goner, but I figured that Rena Sofer (can’t remember her character’s name! UGH!) would show up and pop a cap in Papa Bauer. But nooooooo… it’s more interesting than that. President Logan? WTH? And you know the little “I love my country” theme that seems to permeate a lot of people’s motivations for the evil that they do sure does resonate, to me at least, through how I view today’s real world events. People are often motivated by what they think is right, or what they’ve been taught to believe anyway. But it sure doesn’t mean that it IS right, does it?

American Idol…Bond has a good recap at his Big Leather Couch so I won’t bother here! I will say that I really thought that Antonella Barba and Alaina Alexander should have gone home but…it’s so early in the game that they’ll be going home shortly. The men, were just Meh to me overall. That Chris Sligh guy, I thought oversang, yet the judges and apparently everyone else watching, heard something totally different than I did. Maybe the other ones just sucked that bad, I digress. I was very disappointed in Phil’s performance at the beginning. But he really pulled himself out of the hole mid-song for me. Any why, oh why, do people insist on being crappy to Simon? I think it makes them look worse than he does when he’s being critical. Yes, I’m talking to you Little Miss Multi-colored Hair. I don’t know about you, but at this stage in the game, I remember people by the nicknames I give them unless they’ve impressed me somehow, good or bad. Oh and Beatbox Guy, Blake, wow, he impressed me, he CAN sing. If he never beatboxed again on AI, it would please me just fine. That’s not singing and I think it sounds stupid IMO.

I got that job on Wednesday, I’ve already written about it so I won’t repeat the story.

Ashlyn hurt herself at her scrimmage track meet on Friday. She hyper-extended her knee and has been on the couch all weekend. Keeping her on the couch has been lots of fun…NOT.

Saturday, I spent a good portion of the day catching up on my Google Reader. I hope I didn’t miss anyone’s blog! :/ It felt like I read the whole blogosphere! LOL But it was nice to catch up on what everyone’s been doing.

And in between all of that…I’ve been on a quest…of epic proportions. But that’s fodder for another post.

I’ve been finding myself going to sleep between midnight and 1am lately, which is incredibly early compared to what I have been doing. So that’s cutting into the time that I am usually reflecting and blogging and visiting other people. However, since I’m getting more sleep, that’s a good thing.

Perhaps this was just what European folks call a “mini-break” though unintentional. At any rate, I’m here and I have a really interesting post formulating in my head so be looking for that in the next day or so. Hope you all are well.

Oh and 24…I’ll be posting about that after Ashlyn watches it on DVR, she went to bed early and hasn’t seen it yet.
