American Idol…. Season 8 At last…we have an opinion!

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

This season has been a little less than great for me…I really wasn’t enthused with any of them really during Hollywood rounds. Not that I thought everyone sucked…just that no one really made me go WOW! Even through the top 36 I was not impressed and that’s the stage I found I favored David Cook last year. I think the Top “36″ is a bad idea…too many bad people still in the mix for drama…Tatiana… ugh… just … ugh!

So…yeah… I liked some of these folks that ended up top “13″ but still wasn’t really gung ho…but tonight…I really think separated the wheat from the chaff.

To me and the hubby… the top 5 SHOULD be (in no certain order): Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud. I really like all of them, with Danny actually falling at the end of the list, for me anyway. We’ll see how it shakes out in the weeks to come.

Lil Rounds, while a good singer, isn’t any different than the host of other female R&B stars out there. Scott McIntyre, while it’s impressive how good he plays the piano blind, is really, to be honest not that great of a singer. Megan Corkrey…we liked her…but the quirkiness has begun to wear thin and last night was a train wreck. Anoop, good singer but not someone whose CD I would buy (the tween/teen vote may say otherwise). Michael Sarver…nice guy…won’t win.

Neil Diamond Night on American Idol…

All I can say is…

They better not effing tell any of them that they don’t sound contemporary enough. I mean really!? Neil Diamond? WTF

That is all….

Idol Gives Back…and then some!

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

OK this isn’t a big post, yet…I’ll come back and post again after the show…but my daughters and I were all…ECSTATIC (!!!!) to see the dancers from So You Think You Can Dance on the show! It’s like the best of both worlds! Yay!

My hardened heart…has cried a few times already….

Clicky the picture if you want to learn more, or even better donate what you can. If everyone gave a buck…what a difference it could make. It’s very easy to think that we maybe should help those at home in the US first, I am not exempt from those feelings myself. But you cannoy deny the help that’s needed globally and after all, we are one humanity, eh?

Chikezie Got Screwed…

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I REALLY wish that Kristy Lee Cook would have gone home. It’s that damned site… and her pandering with last night’s song choice. Curse you stupid people!

It’s official, I’m a David Cook fan. I want him to win…and in a way I hope he doesn’t. I may actually like him more than Daughtry, vocally speaking. I do believe they are correct when they claim that this year’s group is their most talented. I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out what order the middle folks should go.

Chikezie reminded me of George Huff…who I just wanted to squish. I couldn’t help but smile when he performed, I have the same feeling about Chekezie. However, the one who without fail makes me smile is Jason Castro. He won’t win, but he sure is fun to watch.

Eli Stone…

It’s a new TV show on ABC…it’s really good. You should watch it.

I’m really enjoying American Idol this year. I really wish that Kristy Lee Cook girl would have gone home for her crime against “8 Days a Week”.

Life keeps going by so fast and I seriously doubt any of you would be interested in what I have to say. Oddly, that’s where I was before I started to blog back in 2006…so maybe you WOULD be interested.

Ashlyn got accepted to the college of her choice. She’ll be staying at home, at least for the first year, since it’s just down the street a few miles. I hope she sticks with it and finishes her degree. Now we just await the end of her Senior year. She goes to her senior trip next month, 4 days at Disneyworld in Orlando. Lucky her, I didn’t choose to be a chaperone. LOL

Insomnia is still a part of my daily life. I am going to have a sleep study done next Friday. Of course, that begs the question…how can they do a sleep study on me, if I don’t really sleep? Hmmmm…

In case you were wondering where Canadians go for vacation…it’s Myrtle Beach. I’ve been trying to think of sneaky ways to get them to say “aboot”…but so far, I’ve not been successful.

It’s the last day of my 30s…

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

and it sucked! lol

To give you an idea of my day at work, I opened a computer file to finish my work at 10am. At 4:30pm, I closed the file and turned my computer off without so much as typing one letter. I have crazy people to deal with and I’m quite certain if I checked the moon calendar I would find that it’s either a full or new moon very shortly.

After that, I went to my therapy appointment and got even more depressed by going over some stuff from my past.

And to top it all off….
Simon Cowell encouraged Amanda Overmeyer’s slaughtering of my favorite Joan Jett song. I don’t get it. My husband and I both let out a high pitched “WHAT!?????”

Let’s hope it is true that the 40s are the new 30s.
