Friday’s Feast #162

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Appetizer – How are you today?
Alive, which is better than the alternative.

Soup – Name 3 television shows you watch on a regular basis.
24, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance?

Salad – What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced?
Blizzardy snowstorm in LaPorte, IN when Manpower wouldn’t let us close the branch even though the County closed the roads. Rat b******s.

Main Course – If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be?
Japan.

Dessert – What do you usually wear to sleep?
Depends on where I’m sleeping you cheeky monkey!

Friday’s Feast #157

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

I’m sooooo late, but better late than never, eh?

Appetizer – Say there’s a book written about your life. Who would you want to narrate the audio version?
I would want to narrate it myself. I presume if my life were interesting enough to have a book written about it, that people would enjoy hearing it in my own voice.

Soup – Take the letters from your favorite kind of nut and write a sentence. (Example: Perhaps every avenue needs understanding today.)
Clearly, a smile holds enormous weight.

Salad – If you could go back in time and spend one week in another decade, which decade would you choose?
That would be the 1980’s – I had some of the best times of my life then. And I miss some of the people that were in my life then very much.

Main Course – Name a song that brings back memories for you.
“Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. I got my very first “real” kiss to that song, on November 25, 1981. Actually the whole Escape Album (because they weren’t CDs back then!) is very meaningful for me. :) Ahhhhh, memories.

Dessert – Do you prefer to wash your hands in cold water or warm water?
Warm of course!

Friday’s Feast #156

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

Appetizer – Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day?
We have the kids on a schedule, each one gets one day Tues-Thurs of each week. Then the hubby and I do ours whenever we can squeeze ours in, usually the weekends.

Soup – In your opinion, what age will you be when you’ll consider yourself to truly be old?
That’d prolly be the day that I’m such a burden to Ashlyn, that she has to stick me in an old folks’ home to be forced to make quilts by the likes of Ben Stiller (That’s a Happy Gilmore reference for the uninitiated. If you’ve not seen it, you should watch it, it’s funny.) At least that’s what she tells me she’s going to do.

Salad – What is one of your goals? Is it short-term, long-term, or both?
Bliss. Both. Attainable? Unlikely.

Main Course – Name something unbelievable you’ve seen or read lately.
That whole Michael Vick thing…I find it unbelievable the stiffest penalty he could face is 5 years in prison and $250K in fines. They should throw him under the jail and toss in some cement IMO. I realize that people are supposed to be considered “innocent until proven guilty” but with all his co-defendents turning on him, it was at his property and supposedly he valued these puppies lives so little that he participated in killing them by drowning and hanging, when they “didn’t perform”. He should suffer the same fate.

Dessert – On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how happy are you today?
That’d be a -10. Things are not bouncy in the 100 Acre Woods. But oh well, “It’s got to rain sometimes” right?

Friday’s Feast #155

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Appetizer – What is your favorite kind of pie?
Southern Pecan Pie, of course!

Soup – Name something that made you smile this week.
Seeing Ashlyn holding her arms up to me from the recovery chair at the oral surgeon’s because she wanted a hug from Mom. (She’s 17, so hug requests sometimes are few and far between without some sort of monetary expenditure request accompanying them.)

Salad – What do you do to cool off when the weather is hot and humid?
One of three things: Stay at home where it’s nice and air-conditioned, go to the pool and float around on my floaty thng and tan, go to the mall where it’s air-condititioned and they have retail therapy.

Main Course – You receive $1,000 in the mail with a letter that says you can only use the money to redecorate one room in your home. Which room do you pick, and what do you buy to spruce it up?
I’d pick our master bedroom and use it to buy new bed linens/curtains for a new look and the rest (with some of our own money kicked in) to buy 2 recliners so hubby and I could hide in there from the kids. Not that we’d EVER want to hide from the kids, of course, I’m just sayin’.

Dessert – Fill in the blank: My _________ says __________, but I __________.
My friends call it soda, but I call it pop. ::cackles wildly::

Friday’s Feast 154

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Appetizer – On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how polite are you?
I’d say an 8 on average. If you’re rude to me, or mean to animals, I will probably be impolite.

Soup – What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?
The Mountain Dew commercial with the ferret dressed up like Jason from Friday the 13th. I saw it again yesterday, and I laughed just as hard as the first time I saw it. You can see it here. Hey, I never said I was mature.

Salad – Who is your favorite cartoon character?
I realize this will come as a big shock to most of you, but… it’s Tigger, T-I- double Guh-Errrr.

Main Course – Tell about the funniest teacher you ever had.
That would probalby have to be Mr. Nipper. He was my AP American History teacher. Instead of actually teaching us the stuff in our history books, he would tell us the “rest of the story” type of stories about our subjects. Needless to say, none of his cute little stories ended up on the AP exam. Let’s just say, thank goodness for the weighted grade scale on the exam.

Dessert – Complete this sentence: I strongly believe that _______________.
we are doomed.

Friday’s Feast #153

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Appetizer – Describe a toy you remember from your childhood.
I had this little plastic cow that I used to watch when I was in my crib falling asleep (Yes, I have baby memories.) I remember gnawing on his horns. Several years ago, my memory was corroborated by a photo my aunt gave me that was of me as a baby, in my crib, staring at the cow. :) If I weren’t such a lazy butt, I’d scan it and show you.

Soup – On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how observant are you?
10 of course, I’m a freaking genius. :P Actually, I drive people crazy with my level of attention to detail. I can usually remember what people were wearing when I met them, definitely their names and faces. It’s kind of insane actually. Maybe I should have myself checked out. ;)

Salad – Where would you rather be at this very moment?
That’s really an interesting question…the answer involves winning a lottery! ;)

Main Course – When was the last time you learned something new?
Yesterday, Yoshi taught me that F11 will toggle Full Screen in MSIE.

Dessert – Fill in the blank: I have ____________ but I haven’t ____________.

I have many things that I’d like to do but I haven’t done them yet.
