Rules

Each player lists 8 random facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. My 8 random facts (in no particular order):

1. I love animals more than people. Usually.
2. I manage a Condo building filled with grouchy old people.
3. I’m 5’4.
4. I have horrible insomnia, which explains my posting this before 7am on a Saturday.
5. I try to be a good person all the time, and I succeed MOST of the time. }:)>
6. I have the most hideous toes ever. (So I never wear open toed shoes.)
7. I have a purse fetish. I have Coach tastes on a knockoff budget. ::sigh::
8. I love playing video games. Which might explain my recent carpal tunnel/trigger thumb surgery.

A philanthropist awards you $50,000 with the stipulation that you may use half of it for yourself and the other half you must use for the benefit of others. By “benefit of others” it can mean anything really, buying a gift for a family member or donating to a charity.

A. How do you spend the money on yourself?
I would become debt free so that I could pursue some things that make me happy.
B. How do you use the money for others? Please be detailed, so if you say “give X dollars to charity, let us know what charity and why you select that one.
It would be very easy for me to choose a charity. I would choose to give all of the “for others” portion of the money to the Horry County Humane Society, if you click on the “About Us” tab, you’ll see that one of their goals is to become a no-kill shelter within the next 5 years. Many shelters across the country are striving towards that, and many have been sucessful. So I think that “my money” would go a long way towards helping them achieve that goal. If it’s even one day sooner, then it saves innocent lives. How do I know I’m making the right choice for me? I’m getting misty writing this, thinking about homeless animals having a chance instead of taking “the long walk”. I hope that each of you will support your local shelters.
C. If you were to spend part of your money to have a performer do a show for you, who would it be and why?
This one is so hard to answer. Howard Jones and Hootie & The Blowfish are two of my most favorite concerts to go to, they’re both better live than they are on their studio CDs. Jimmy Buffett is always a good time too. But I have to say, if I could have someone personally perform for me, it’s going to be Def Leppard. I have wanted Joe Elliott to “Pour Some Sugar On Me” since before I knew what to do with him, and believe you me, I know what to do with him now. (Note to Ashlyn: I know you’re saying “Ewwww!” But he is my Orlando Bloom/Johnny Depp, think of it that way.) Oh lest you think this is purely hormonal, I’d love them to play their entire discography for me, even though Steve Clark has long since passed away and it wouldn’t be quite the same. They are my favorite group.
D. If you were to use it on a new vehicle for yourself, what kind?
I’ve always wanted a Mustang. So with 25K I would hope I’d be able to have a nice one.
E. If you spent part of it to go to a “fantasy” camp, what type would you choose?
I think that would be a “fantasy camp” in the Caribbean where I could practice my elite suntanning and pina colada drinking skills. Probably on St. Lucia, I’ve always wanted to go there, it’s so green!
F. If you were to use it to buy season tickets for a sports team, what team would it be?
Dallas Cowboys, no question.
G. If you were to use it to go on a cruise (assuming you like cruises) where would you cruise to? With that much money, I presume that one could take a couple cruises, so I’d go through the Caribbean, an Alaskan Cruise to see the Northern Lights and also through the Mediterranean Sea as I’d love to see Greece, Italy and Egypt.
H. If you were to use it to go to NYC to see a show (or shows) what would you see?
Phantom of the Opera and Wicked! I believe Cats closed, so I wouldn’t be able to see that one, even though I’d like to.
I. Totally off subject (but since Fall is coming) what is your favorite carnival food (I was watching “Big” while writing this and saw them at the carnival)?
Deep Fried Twinkies aka Death on a Stick. OMG…these sound disgusting, but they are like little presents from someone who clearly loves you. They taste so good.

Thanks Michael, this was a fun one to do and new too! I loved having to think about how I’d spend that kind of money dropped into my lap. The people who I’d like to see answer the $50,000 question are: Desert Songbird, Bond, Travis, Starrlight, Kailani, Daddy Forever and Yoshi. Here’s the rules:

My middle name is Gayle. My relatives used to call me Ammy Gayle when I was growing up, I hated it then, I REALLY hate it now, NEVER call me that, unless you want me to get on a plane and come hurt you. (And no, that’s not the right way to get me to come visit you! )

G – I love to put Elmer’s GLUE on my hands, let it dry and peel it off like it’s a layer of skin. Have ever since elementary school. I don’t get much opportunity to do that now, but it’s still fun.

A – ASHLYN is the APPLE of my eye. (2 for price of 1)

Y – I really hate the color YELLOW. Except when it’s mustard on a sandwich.

L – LOVE is the most important emotion to me. I wish there was more of it.

E – I wish that EVERYONE could just get along and there’d be no more need for wars or disagreement, and then there could be more LOVE.

Soup – What colors dominate your closet?
Black, red, maroon and dark purple.

Salad – How would you describe your personal “comfort zone”?
While I just love people, close talkers scare me. I like to have good personal space or I start feeling closed in. I am at my best in small, intimate gatherings of people I know well, and like. My biggest comfort zone? My couch! LOL

Main Course – On which reality show would you really like to be a contestant?
The one I win and get a squillion dollars, obviously.

Dessert – Which holiday would you consider to be your favorite?
It’s a tie! I can’t decide between Halloween (So ghoulishly fun!) and Christmas (Such a good family time!).

My evenings were spent playing a lot of WoW, especially since I was feeling so crappy. It’s nice to let your characters run around all healthy even if you’re coughing up a lung.

This is a new activity that my friend, Mert at Almost Somewhat Positive came up with! This is a fun way to sum up the week’s, or just that Saturday’s, events.
